Annual Divisional Meeting 15th March 2025
West Yorkshire Division Annual Meeting 2025
The Greenhead Masonic Hall in Huddersfield hosted the 2025 Annual Divisional Meeting of the Knights of the Red Cross of Constantine (West Yorkshire Division). This marked the first such meeting for R.Ill.Kt. Keith Tolan, now one year into his term of office. With nearly 90 knights and distinguished guests in attendance, the event was filled with camaraderie and fellowship throughout the day.
Preparations & Logistics
A significant amount of behind-the-scenes effort goes into ensuring the smooth running of this annual event. Special recognition is due to P.Kt. John Marrison (Divisional Recorder) and P.Kt. Kenneth Kerridge (Assistant Divisional Recorder) for their dedication and hard work. Members of the Centurion Conclave, our Past Sovereigns Conclave, played a crucial role in ensuring the day’s success.
For many, the day began early, with members of Centurion Conclave No.170 setting up the hall, arranging the necessary furnishings, and finalizing seating plans for the upcoming appointments and distinguished guests. They also assisted with car park duties, ushered guests to their designated robing areas, and provided general support wherever needed. Their efforts exemplify the pride and commitment of a conclave steeped in Red Cross heritage.
Rehearsals & Ceremonial Duties
Divisional Marshal Brieifing the Sepulchre Guard
The Red Cross of Constantine is renowned for its beautiful ceremonies, and meticulous rehearsal is essential to maintaining these traditions. The Divisional Marshal led members of the Sepulchre Guard through the finer details of their duties, while newly appointed and promoted Divisional Officers rehearsed their roles and movements. These efforts ensured a flawless execution, and the Sepulchre Guard performed exceptionally, as they had throughout the year while accompanying the Intendant-General on his travels.
The Meeting & Formal Proceedings
Under the guidance of the Deputy Marshal and escorted by the Sepulchre Guard, distinguished guests entered the temple to a warm round of respect and applause. In similar fashion, the Divisional Officers, Deputy Intendant-General, and the Intendant-General made their entrance, accompanied by the beautiful music of W.Kt. Roger Quick.
The Intendant-General began by inviting the Eminent Divisional High Prelate to lead the Service of Rededication, reminding all knights of the true meaning of the Order.
As with every meeting, formal matters were addressed, including the approval of minutes, accounts, and the roll call of conclaves present. A particularly poignant moment came when the Deputy Intendant-General listed the knights of the division who had departed to the Grand Conclave above, followed by a mark of respect.
The highlight of the meeting was the appointment and investiture of those receiving divisional honours. For those being honoured for the first time, it was a truly memorable occasion, marked by congratulations and handshakes from the Deputy Intendant-General.
IG, Dep IG & Viceroy IG, Dep IG & members of the Sepulchre Guard
The Intendant-General’s address was well received, particularly his emphasis on recruitment and retention of members. He also highlighted two significant milestones in 2025: the 150th anniversary of White Rose of York Conclave (consecrated on 12th June 1875) and the appointment of the first Intendant-General for the West Yorkshire Division. These anniversaries will be celebrated on 25th June (White Rose Conclave) and 22nd October (Division).
With the formalities concluded, the knights departed through the traditional arch of steel provided by the Sepulchre Guard.
Festive Board & Closing
Following the meeting, attendees gathered at the bar for a well-earned drink before proceeding to the dining hall. The Intendant-General and his Deputy were warmly clapped to their seats, setting the tone for an enjoyable meal.
The superb meal was accompanied by lively and friendly conversation, a testament to the fellowship shared among the knights. After dinner, M.P.Kt. Marios Adamou led the toast list, culminating in a heartfelt tribute to the Intendant-General. The Intendant-general’s response was brief but meaningful, wishing all attendees a safe journey home.
Thus concluded the 2025 Divisional Meeting of this esteemed Order, leaving all in attendance with the watchwords firmly in their hearts: In Faith, In Unity, and In Zeal.
